A points-based immigration system in Canada called Express Entry enables talented employees, including Indian students studying abroad, to qualify for permanent residency. This is how it goes:

  • Indian students must achieve a number of requirements in order to be eligible, including proficiency in English or French, a postsecondary degree, and appropriate work experience in a specialized occupation.

  • Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS): Candidates are ranked according to a variety of criteria, including their age, education level, employment history, language ability, and adaptability. Their position in the Express Entry pool is determined by the CRS score.

  • Invitation to Apply (ITA): Candidates with the best CRS scores are given Invitations to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency in regular draws from the pool.

  • Indian students who completed their studies in Canada benefit from additional CRS points for their Canadian education, which raises their overall score and raises their likelihood of being granted an ITA.

  • Possessing a Post-Graduation job Permit (PGWP) enables Indian students to get worthwhile job experience that can raise their CRS score and increase their ability to compete in the Express Entry system.

  • Provincial Nominee Programmes (PNPs): PNPs are available in a few Canadian provinces and offer individuals who fit certain criteria a road to permanent status. Indian students may be qualified for provincial nomination and additional CRS points if they attend school in a specific province.

  • In order to facilitate family reunion, Indian students who are granted permanent residency through Express Entry may sponsor their immediate family members for permanent residence.

  • Indian students in Canada have an effective way to move from temporary to permanent residency thanks to the Express Entry programme, which also gives chances to develop stable lives and prosperous employment. Indian students can improve their prospects of getting an ITA and obtaining permanent residency in Canada by actively raising their CRS scores through job experience in Canada, language improvement, and maximizing educational credentials

Follow these steps to become a provincial nominee in Canada’s Express Entry programme:

  • Make sure you fit the requirements for the Express Entry programme, which include those for language competence, education, work experience, and adaptability.

  • Create an Express Entry Profile: Provide correct information about your credentials and experience in an online profile on the Express Entry system run by the Canadian government.

  • Find out about Provincial Nominee Programmes (PNPs): Find provinces with PNPs that fit your requirements by doing some research. There are distinct nomination streams with different standards in each province.

  • Expression of Interest (EOI) submission: Depending on the province, you must either submit an EOI or a separate application to indicate your desire to be nominated.

  • Get a Provincial Nomination: You may get a provincial nomination, which raises your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, if your profile fits the needs and requirements of the province.

  • Your chances of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency are increased if you update your Express Entry profile to reflect the provincial nomination.

  • Receive ITA: You are more likely to be granted an ITA for Canadian permanent residency thanks to the improved CRS score brought on by the provincial nomination.

  • Application for Permanent Residency: After receiving the ITA, send Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) a complete application for permanent residency.

  • Supporting Documents: Submit all essential paperwork, including police records, medical records, and any other important paperwork.

  • IRCC will review your application, along with the provincial nomination, and reach a determination regarding your permanent residency.

Before submitting an application for a provincial nomination, keep in mind that the requirements and procedures unique to the province in which you are interested may differ. Your chances of becoming a permanent resident of Canada might be considerably increased by being nominated by a province through Express Entry.
